East London has many opportunities for businesses operating in all sectors to find a serviced office that reflects their brand as well as their budget. From Smithfields and Whitechapel, through Mile End and Bromley by Bow, to East Ham, Barking and Upminster. East London also includes the Isle of Dogs and the hugely desirable business district of Canary Wharf.
Canary Wharf
The area dominated by the Canary Wharf building – called the Isle of Dogs, though many people refer to it as Canary Wharf – is famously home to some of the world’s leading banks and financial service providers, as well as major media companies and multinational law firms. It’s no wonder that it’s also popular with smaller businesses hoping to emulate that success. And whilst it may be a hive of sky-scrapers, don’t discount it on cost grounds just because it’s such a desirable address – serviced office space in and around Canary Wharf can be surprisingly affordable, even for small start ups.
Public transport
East London is served well by public transport, with overground train services from areas of Essex to Liverpool Street and Fenchurch Street stations. Stratford International Station is served by Britain’s only high speed commuter services from Ashford in Kent.
Getting around the area by tube is easy as it is served by the District Line, Central Line and the Docklands Light Railway.
If you’ve got time, there’s another choice of public transport in the form of river buses which start at Woolwich and take commuters and tourists to piers across East London and beyond.
Something for everyone
East London is a huge and diverse area, which means, of course, that it will have something that appeals to businesses of all sizes and across all sectors. Whether you like to spend your spare time eating in great restaurants, clubbing, or exploring country parks, wetlands or messing around on the water, it’s a great place to work and live.
